Masada Israel

Five Things You Need To Know Before You Book Your First Trip To Masada, Israel

Is this your first trip to Masada? Here are 5 things you should know and take care of before you go.

1) You do not need a visa to travel to Israel. You do need some kind of passport that is valid. It needs to be current and up to date for at least 6 months before your departure time. Some like to visit the Arab countries after their stop in Israel. Do not have your passport stamped. This is going to complicate things when traveling. Ask the customs officials for specifics when traveling. They will have a better idea of what to do.

2) Anytime of year is good to visit. The months from April to November are considered to be the "hot months". Those of you looking to avoid this time should book during the other months. Israel will be busy during the Jewish high holidays like Passover. These times tend to be between October and August.

3) Most places in Masada, Israel are not going to be kosher. Some of you may be looking for places that serve kosher foods. There will be signs in specific places to eat that will serve kosher foods but do not expect it.

4) You will find most people do speak English in Masada Israel. It is helpful to know a little bit of Hebrew. Do you want to make an impression on some of the local residents? Learn as much Hebrew as you can. This way you will not be seen as a "tourist" so much.

5) Most people in Masada Israel will be dressing casually. Pack light for the trip and bring some sunglasses. This happens in the workplaces too. Some guys have been teased because they have worn a tie to work. This example is being illustrated to show just how casual Masada is. The only heavy clothing you may need is a light sweater or a windbreaker, and this is during the hot months.
